Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and the Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, has initiated a philanthropic campaign in the UAE community in solidarity with the people of Lebanon with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and by the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President,
The campaign, titled “The UAE Stands with Lebanon,” will launch on October 8 and run until October 21. Its goal is to engage the public and private sectors, institutions, and the community. Speaking about the campaign’s significance, Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised how the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has prioritised aiding the people of Lebanon in their difficult humanitarian situation. He expressed faith in the ability of the UAE community and its citizens, companies, and institutions to help and stand by those in dire circumstances.
Six aircraft carrying about 205 tonnes of food, shelter supplies, relief supplies, and medical equipment were delivered by the United Arab Emirates. The World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies were among the international partners that collaborated on this.
