The FBI Claims that a Deadly bar Shooting in Texas was “Possibly an act of Terrorism”

The FBI says the shooting outside a beer garden in Austin, Texas, which left two people dead and more than a dozen injured, may have been tied to terrorism. Ndiaga Diagne, 53, was identified as the suspect by Austin police. According to CBS News, a US partner of the BBC, and other US media, he was born in Senegal and became a naturalized American citizen.

Police claimed they shot and killed the suspect after reacting to reports of an active shooter near Buford’s pub in the capital of the southern US state at approximately 2:00 local time (08:00 GMT) on Sunday. This brings the number of fatalities to three. The shooter’s motivation has not been provided by the police. Three of the 14 survivors were in critical condition when they were brought to the hospital.

“Property of Allah” was printed on the gunman’s sweater, according to two people with knowledge of the inquiry who spoke to CBS News. An official familiar with the inquiry told CBS that when police searched the gunman’s residence, they discovered images of Iranian leaders and an Iranian flag. The incident occurred the same weekend when Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a series of strikes on Iran by the United States and its partner Israel.
