Longtime Trump loyalist and staunch advocate of his government, Attorney General Pam Bondi, has been fired from her position as America’s top law enforcement official by US President Donald Trump. In an article on Truth Social, Trump lauded her and announced that she was “transitioning” to work for a private company.
During Bondi’s tenure as head of the justice department, the handling of papers pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein and the investigation into the convicted sex offender frequently took center stage. It follows the March ouster of homeland security chief Kristi Noem as the second high-ranking Trump administration official to be removed from her position in as many weeks. Deputy Bondi’s old boss, Todd Blanche, will be taking over for her.
The position had been “the honour” of Bondi’s life, and she promised to “work tirelessly” to hand over her responsibilities to Blanche. Bondi went on to say that she would “continue fighting for President Trump and this administration” in her unnamed new private sector job.
This announcement is made just over two months after Bondi’s contentious appearance before Congress, during which she was interrogated relentlessly by lawmakers and, at one point, referred to one Democrat as a “washed-up loser.
