With its busiest quarter ever, Dubai International (DXB) kicked off the year spectacularly, reaffirming its status as a major global aviation hub and engine of Dubai’s economy and the Middle East’s aviation sector.
With 23 million visitors going through its terminals in Q1, DXB saw a notable spike in passenger volume—an 8.4% increase over the same period last year. This expansion demonstrates DXB’s attractiveness to large markets and its role in elevating Dubai’s stature as a global hub for trade and tourism. The quarter’s total passenger traffic was 23,052,060, with January having the highest traffic with 7.9 million guests.”The robust growth trajectory at DXB continued in the first quarter of the year, with the hub recording some awe-inspiring numbers,” said Paul Griffiths, CEO of DXB. Thanks in part to the number of cities that our home base carriers, Emirates and Flydubai, have been adding to our network in recent months. We continue to concentrate on maintaining growth momentum and improving the overall airport experience for every visitor going through our terminals as Dubai becomes a global leader in luring talent, businesses, and travelers worldwide. We have updated our prediction for the year to 91 million guests, exceeding our previous annual traffic record of 89.1 million, thanks to a solid start to Q2 and an optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year.
