A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the UAE and Ireland to strengthen their technical and economic cooperation as well as create a joint economic commission.
Niamh Smyth, the Irish Minister for Trade Promotion, AI, and Digital Transformation, and Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade signed the agreement. The signing is a component of a larger initiative to boost private sector involvement and promote reciprocal economic growth between the two countries.
The MoU seeks to fortify bilateral trade ties and create a joint economic committee to promote continued communication and cooperation. Supply chain resilience, food security, energy efficiency, renewable energy, infrastructure development, trade and investment, the digital and green economy, healthcare technologies, and other topics of common interest will all be explored. One of the MoU’s main objectives is developing and broadening economic and technological cooperation based on mutual benefit and equality.
In addition to facilitating information sharing on economic programs and advancements, the committee will encourage business delegation visits and work to provide a welcoming environment for two-way investment. The MoU also enables both parties to participate in and promote cooperation at international conferences, seminars, and exhibitions. and resolving any issues preventing two-way economic collaboration.
