The 2024 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings were attended by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from April 27 to April 30, 2024.
The Golden Jubilee of IsDB—the bank’s 50th founding anniversary coincided with this year’s annual meetings.
The highest decision-making bodies within the IsDB Group are the General Assemblies and the Board of Governors.
Delegations from member nations and observers from international and regional organizations convened annually under the subject “Cherishing our Past Charting our Future: Originality, Solidarity and Prosperity” to talk about institutional and development-related concerns.
The UAE delegation, which included Younis Haji Al Khoori, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ali Abdullah Sharafi, the acting assistant undersecretary for international financial relations at the Ministry of Finance, and a number of ministry specialists, was led by Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs.
Al Hussaini emphasized that the IsDB Group’s annual meetings provide an important forum for discussing strategies to improve collaboration among Islamic member nations, accomplish sustainable and all-encompassing development within them, and convert their economies into diversified, sustainable economies that can withstand economic downturns.
Al Hussaini stated that the UAE places a high priority on the stability and prosperity of developing and lower-income nations during the Governors’ Roundtable Meeting, which had as its theme “Pathway to Prosperity for Least Developed IsDB Member Countries.
