India easily chased down 241 in their second Champions Trophy group encounter in Dubai on Sunday, extending their domination over arch-rival Pakistan in ICC competitions with a six-wicket triumph.
After a string of poor recent performances, star batsman Virat Kohli took front stage with an outstanding century. In this crucial encounter, India won thanks to Kohli’s outstanding form and quickness between the wickets. He was joined by Shreyas Iyer, who got his 21st ODI fifty off 63 balls, as India won the competition for the second time in a row with 7.3 overs remaining.
In this thrilling match versus the Men in Blue, Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan chose to bat after winning the toss. However, the host country struggles to survive the competition following consecutive defeats. Defending champions Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are gone after they fell to New Zealand in the tournament’s opening match.
