During the all-party delegation’s visit here, Qatar underlined zero-tolerance for terrorism and the need to cease distinguishing between terrorists and their supporters, the Indian envoy in Doha said on Tuesday.
The multi-party delegation headed by MP Supriya Sule wrapped up its trip to Qatar on Monday. This was the first stop of a four-nation tour that was organised in response to the Pahalgam terrorist assault, Operation Sindoor, and the events that followed.
The Qatari side highlighted the need to denounce terrorism and its own zero-tolerance stance against it. According to a statement released by the Indian embassy here, the team thanked the Qatari leadership for its assistance and praised the Qatari government for denouncing the Pahalgam incident.
According to the report, the visiting delegation met with several Qatari dignitaries over the last two days, including Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi.
The statement read, “The Indian delegation briefed on developments since the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and communicated India’s zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border terrorism.
The delegation explained that India’s response, Operation Sindoor, was proportionate, targeted, and calibrated, demonstrating India’s commitment to combating terrorism without raising tensions.” “They emphasised the necessity of ceasing to distinguish between terrorists and their supporters and dismantling the infrastructure of cross-border terrorism that has been established and employed against India for many years,” the statement read.
