In response to a query from Euronews on Saturday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the European Union from the Munich Security Conference that Ukraine “needs a date” for its admission and hopes to be prepared to join in 2027.
He stated at a press conference, “We need a date.” “The date of accession depends on all these talks with partners but, and I don’t want to be disrespectful to the United States and Europe, we need a date because otherwise Russia will try to block us – directly or through maybe other countries.” Technically, Ukraine must be prepared to join my administration, the parliament, and the institutions in 2027.
In his much-awaited speech, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington wants to “revitalize” its relationship with Europe and that the two blocs should work together to fix what he called a “broken” status quo. Rubio was the other major attraction of the day in Munich. However, he continued to support US official claims that the rules-based international order established following World War II violated national sovereignty and caused mass migration, which in turn caused instability in Western nations.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were among the many other world leaders that took the platform. Read what they had to say by scrolling down below.
