In the Wake of the Cyberattack, M&S Suspends Online Orders and Provides Refunds

According to Marks & Spencer (M&S), the firm has ceased accepting online purchases while it works to recover from a cyberattack. The business acknowledged a “cyber incident” on Tuesday, following customer complaints about issues that began over the weekend.

M&S has now completely stopped accepting orders on its website and apps, including those for clothing and food delivery, and promises to reimburse consumers for their orders on Friday. Following the announcement, the company’s stock initially dropped 5% before recovering.

Our skilled staff is putting in a lot of effort to resume online and app shopping with the help of top cyber specialists. We are very appreciative of our partners, coworkers, and customers for their support and understanding.

In the past, the company had issues that impacted customers who paid using gift cards, Click & Collect, and contactless payments. M&S has responded to social media posts, informing customers that these issues persist despite halting online ordering. In response to a user on X, it stated that gift cards, e-gift cards, and credit receipts are not presently accepted as forms of payment in-store or online.
