President of the United States of America Adnoc’s lower-carbon intensity liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Ruwais has attracted some international partners and investors, who signed an agreement on Wednesday, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the meeting.
His Highness welcomed the representatives of the companies that signed the equity agreement during the meeting, which was held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. The Group CEO and Managing Director of Adnoc, Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, accompanied them.
Sheikh Mohamed expressed his support for the agreement and emphasized its importance in light of the UAE’s continuous efforts to fund clean energy projects. He emphasized the significance of finding answers to the energy sector’s shared problems and strengthening collaboration with global partners to support sustainable development for all.
Sheikh Mohamed spoke with company representatives about the possibility of collaboration between all parties, especially when using creative ideas to promote sustainable economic growth. They looked into doable alternatives for the energy sector transition as well.
Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, BP CEO Murray Auchincloss, Mitsui & Co. President and CEO Kenichi Hori, Shell CEO Wael Sawan, and TotalEnergies Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanné signed the agreement.
