Jet Fuel Shortages Won’t Affect Summer Flights, According to EasyJet’s Boss

According to EasyJet’s CEO, the airline won’t be impacted by jet fuel shortages this summer, but passengers are scheduling flights later due to the unpredictability of the Iran War. Travelers shouldn’t panic, Kenton Jarvis told the BBC, adding that they could make reservations with confidence because the airline has not noticed any problems with fuel supplies.

Fuel costs have nearly doubled as a result of the Middle East conflict’s successful blockade of the Strait of Hormuz waterway, which is typically a vital route for Europe’s aviation fuel. Ryanair, a competitor airline, stated earlier this week that Europe was still “relatively well supplied with jet fuel.”

It was revealed on Wednesday that proposals to restrict the UK from importing diesel and jet fuel produced in third countries using Russian oil had been scaled back due to supply issues and price increases. On the BBC’s Today show, Jarvis stated, “We’ve seen absolutely no issues with fuel supply in any of our airports in the UK across Europe or indeed beyond.”

He continued by saying that “they’re equally raising no issues looking forward” and that the airline maintained constant communication with governments, airports, and fuel suppliers.
