Giorgia Meloni of Italy has responded to US President Donald Trump on social media once more after he questioned her political appeal and reiterated his assertion that she often requested a picture with him.
According to Trump, the prime minister was “doing poorly in Italy with her level of popularity” on Saturday. Additionally, he charged that she did not back US attempts to stop Iran “from obtaining or developing a nuclear weapon.
Meloni called Trump’s “constant, unprovoked attacks” “senseless” in an Instagram statement.Being your friend hasn’t made me more popular, and it doesn’t rely on our friendship,” Meloni remarked. You don’t need to worry about my popularity. “I advise you to concentrate on yours,” she continued.
Trump also claimed earlier on Saturday that Meloni had created “a great logistical inconvenience” by preventing the US from utilizing Italian airports for US military operations in Iran.
However, the use of Italian bases “is government by agreements that we have always respected, and that cannot be violated as long as I am prime minister,” according to the Italian leader.
