On Wednesday, the global technology group e& and Adnoc announced a strategic project to construct the largest private 5G wireless network in the energy industry, covering 11,000 square kilometres (sq km).
Adnoc’s onshore and offshore operations will benefit from high-bandwidth connectivity provided by the 5G network. As a result, Adnoc can further integrate its cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) solutions at its most remote facilities, lower costs through automation, increase productivity, cut emissions, and improve employee safety. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025 and is anticipated to produce value during the first five years of operation of $1.5 billion (Dhs5.5 billion).
The Managing Director and Group CEO of Adnoc, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, stated, “This historic project with e& is a milestone step in Adnoc’s journey to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company.” The demand for energy and artificial intelligence is growing worldwide, so we can ensure that we continue to provide our customers with safe, dependable, and ethical energy by investing in state-of-the-art connectivity throughout our operations. This strategic partnership will help us create value as we expand our diverse energy portfolio, make faster and more informed decisions at all levels of the organization, future-proof our company, and protect both the environment and our employees.
