According to information from Khaleej Times, Emirates SkyCargo has placed an order worth $1 billion for five additional Boeing 777 freighters, with delivery anticipated in 2025 or 2026. The airline is also converting ten 777-300ERs into cargo aircraft and has already ordered five Boeing 777 Freighters.
According to sources, the airline’s most recent action will increase its available main deck cargo capacity by 30% and allow it to retire a portion of its older cargo fleet once it receives the new 777 Freighters by the end of next year.
The Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, stated that new freighter aircraft will meet customers’ growing demand. With great pleasure, I announce that Emirates SkyCargo has placed a new order for five Boeing 777 freighters, which will be added to the fleet between 2025 and 2026. This order will help Emirates SkyCargo better meet customer demand and will be a step forward in the company’s long-term strategic growth plan. “Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the city’s foreign trade and reinforce its position as a global trade hub, is contributing to the exponential growth in demand for our world-class products and services,” Sheikh Ahmed stated in a social media post on X.
