His Highness the President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to accelerating climate action and creating a future economy that is climate resilient during the opening session of the COP29 World Leaders Climate Action Summit on Tuesday.
The COP29 climate conference, which is being held in Baku from November 11 to 22, was inaugurated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and is titled “In Solidarity for a Green World.”
During his participation in the summit, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the UAE’s longstanding tradition of environmental stewardship and dedication to sustainable development principles.
His Highness emphasized that sustained positive international cooperation on climate action may usher in a new era of sustainable economic and social prosperity that benefits all countries. He presented climate action as a special chance for progress rather than a burden, pointing out that the historic UAE Consensus at COP28 reaffirmed the world’s commitment to a methodical, accountable, equitable, and logical transition in the energy sector. His Highness called on all parties to prioritize mutual understanding over division, stressing that the collective mission now is to work together for the greater good of humanity.
