On June 21, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined thousands of people across in commemorating International Yoga Day. Modi was spotted taking part in the ceremony in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Yoga for One Earth, One Health” is the theme of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations taking place all around the world. Following India’s proposal to the UN, the day has been observed globally since 2015.
Modi called on the whole community to adopt “inner peace” as a “global policy” and to make yoga a worldwide duty. “Let every country and every society make yoga a shared responsibility, a common contribution towards collective well-being,” added Modi.
The celebration was made much more spectacular by the presence of Indian Navy ships positioned close to the picturesque Visakhapatnam coastline. Thousands of Andhra Pradesh people, yoga aficionados, and dignitaries joined Modi. On the International Day of Yoga, members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) do yoga along the Indian-Pakistani border in Attari-Wagah.
