According to the interior minister, a Russian missile and drone strike in the Kyiv region overnight claimed at least seven lives and injured several more. Ihor Klymenko said in a social media post that hospitals, sports facilities, and residential areas had been affected.
According to Vitaliy Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, at least six of the fatalities occurred in a high-rise building in the capital, while 22 more people were hurt there.
Russia has started attacking Ukrainian cities from the air in large numbers in recent weeks. Later on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will fly to London to address the issue. According to the Ukrainian air force, 352 Russian drones and 16 missiles recently attacked Ukrainian land, mostly in the Kyiv region.
Ukraine’s emergency service shared video of astonished citizens being escorted out of a blazing, wrecked high-rise building. According to municipal officials, there was damage to an underground metro station entry. Many residents spent the night sheltering in such stations.
A drone hit a hospital in the southern city of Bila Tserkva, killing one person in addition to those slain in the capital. It occurs when the capital is still in shock following Tuesday’s nighttime Russian strikes that killed at least 28 people and wounded over 100 more.
