A newly released email suggests that Jeffrey Epstein appeared to confirm Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was photographed with Virginia Giuffre. In the message, dated July 2011, Epstein, who is alleged to have taken the picture, wrote, “Yes, she [Giuffre] was on my plane and yes, she had her picture taken with Andrew.”
The email, published on Wednesday among more than 20,000 pages of correspondence from the late financier’s estate, appears to contradict Prince Andrew’s repeated denial of meeting Giuffre. The former royal has long claimed that the widely circulated photograph showing him with his arm around Giuffre may have been doctored.
The contents of the email could further complicate Andrew’s attempts to distance himself from his association with Epstein, the convicted sex offender whose connections to high-profile figures continue to draw scrutiny. According to documents made public by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, Andrew and Epstein continued to communicate four months after the prince declared their romance was over.
