As governments worldwide grapple with rapid advances in artificial intelligence, climate challenges, and economic uncertainty, organisers of the World Governments Summit have said the upcoming edition will be the most ambitious in the event’s history.
The summit will be held in Dubai from 3 to 5 February and has taken place annually since 2013. The 2026 edition will be organised under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”.
According to organisers, the event is expected to attract 35 heads of state and government, more than 150 government delegations, and over 6,000 participants from around the world.
The programme will include a range of high-level forums focused on key global issues, including artificial intelligence, education, mobility, sustainability, and economic resilience. For the first time, the summit will also host the World Laureates Summit, bringing Nobel Prize winners and leading scientists into direct discussions on major policy challenges.
Speaking at the World Government Summit Dialogue, Mohammad Al Gergawi, the UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the summit, said the event reflects the country’s vision of creating a global platform for developing practical solutions, innovative ideas, and meaningful partnerships to shape the future of governance.
