Dr. Majed Al-Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar’s foreign ministry, stated in a briefing on Monday that the government has disregarded Iranian assertions that its strikes do not target civilian areas because missile and drone attacks on the nation continue even though they seem to be less intense in recent days.
In response to the Iranian foreign minister’s denial that Tehran would target civilian areas, Al-Ansari told reporters, “I find it very difficult to even respond to what Mr. Aragchi said in light of the fact that these attacks are ongoing every day.
“The threats and attacks on civilian targets have not stopped since the Iranian attacks on Qatar began,” Al-Ansari stated. Our LNG facilities in Ras Laffan, the industrial complex in Mesaieed, the airport, Hamad International Airport, and residential areas have all been targets of these attacks,” he continued.
Dr. Al-Ansari stated that “what is taking place right now in this European position is laying the ground for an important increase in our defense and security partnerships with Europe” in a statement that echoed the UAE’s similar gratitude for Europe in an interview with Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State at the UAE Foreign Ministry, for Euronews.
