RIYADH: VisitBritain, the UK’s national tourism organisation, and the Saudi Tourism Authority have signed a statement committing to expanding and developing travel.
The signing at the GREAT Futures Conference will result in the two kingdoms cooperating and sharing knowledge about domestic and foreign tourism.
According to VisitBritain’s prediction, 240,000 Saudi tourists are expected to visit the UK this year, up 9% from 2019. The forecast also indicated that tourists would spend £752 million ($65.56 million) on their travels, a 20 percent increase from 2019.
“Today we’ve signed an MoU… because we want to encourage and learn about ‘how do we encourage more Saudis to come to the UK’ and ‘how do we get more members of Great Britain to come over to Saudi Arabia,'” US Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport Lucy Frazer said to Arab News.
Our relationship has always been very strong, but it is becoming closer as Saudi Arabia goes through this significant social and economic transformation.”
“It has so many aspirations for the future and is so dynamic,” she continued. Furthermore, we hope to play a significant role as partners in the UK. To share knowledge, skills, and best practices, we work together in various areas.
