Four families in Abu Dhabi welcomed a fresh start with the arrival of their newborn children as the world rejoiced in the fireworks, music, and good cheer that marked the start of 2025. Born between 2025 and 2039, these early members of Generation Beta have instilled a newfound feeling of hope in their families and the wider community.
Ghayah Mohamed Salem Alqmzi, a newborn girl born in Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi to Emirati parents Mohamed Salem Alqmzi and Salama Khamis Abu Ghaboob, was one of the first patients to arrive. She weighed 2.490 kg when she came at 12:01 am, making her the sixth child in her family. While each of our children has offered us joy and optimism, welcoming Ghayah on New Year’s Day feels like a special gift. Our family feels whole today. We envision her developing.
Mariyam Abdulwahid Alshaikha was born at Burjeel Hospital at 01:06 in the morning. Mariyam, the family’s second child, was born to Emirati parents Abdulwahid Naser Hadi Al Shaikha and Seham Nasser Saleh and weighs 2.840 kg. It’s a chance to remember to welcome our daughter as the globe starts a new chapter. It will always be engraved in our hearts. The delighted parents said, “We pray for her health and wish her the best happiness in the world.
