The Kingdom of Bahrain has sent its deepest sympathies to the victims of the unfortunate passenger plane tragedy that killed 179 people, as well as its support with South Korea. Southwest of the Republic of Korea, near Muan International Airport, the crash happened during landing.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing the country’s profound condolences and solidarity with the governments and citizens of Thailand and South Korea, who were impacted by the tragic event. Along with wishing the injured a speedy recovery, the Kingdom also sent its condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished in the collision.
In response to the incident, South Korea has announced a seven-day time of mourning. The Jeju Air aircraft belly-landed and went off the runway, exploding in a flame as it crashed into a wall at Muan International Airport, making it the deadliest air accident in South Korea’s history. According to a transport ministry official, the pilots called mayday shortly after the control tower received a bird strike warning and subsequently made an effort to land.
