As autonomous systems increasingly perform purchases and financial transactions on behalf of users, artificial intelligence agents may play a significant role in the adoption of stablecoins as early as 2027, according to digital asset executives at the ADGM Global Media Forum. According to Andrej Majcen, co-founder and group CEO of Bitcoin Suisse, the quick advancement of AI may lead to the emergence of a new class of economic players that can conduct transactions with little assistance from humans.”I anticipate that the proliferation of AI agents will occur in 2027,” Majcen stated.
He clarified that AI agents will require quicker and more effective payment methods as they grow more autonomous. Majcen anticipates that these systems will progressively favour stablecoins and other digital assets because to their programmability and efficiency, even though they could still accept conventional payment methods like credit cards. Digital assets known as stablecoins are made to have a comparatively steady value, typically by being connected to a conventional currency like the US dollar.
Within the next three to five years, AI bots may start communicating directly with one another, according to Edward Hong, Senior Executive Officer of Hashed Global Management and Chief Platform Officer and Partner of Hashed. He clarified that because these computers might autonomously make purchases, access data, and pay for computer services, there would be a need for quick, programmable payment infrastructure that could facilitate international transactions.
