President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met today with Egypt’s His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss measures to deepen the two countries’ long-standing ties. The discussions, which took place during the Egyptian President’s working visit to the UAE, focused on increasing collaboration across numerous areas, particularly in development, economics, and investment. Both leaders highlighted the significance of these efforts in attaining their countries’ and peoples’ goals for progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President El-Sisi discussed various regional and international matters of mutual concern, including major events in the Middle East. They hailed the announcement of a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need of ensuring that enough humanitarian aid reaches the region.
Both leaders reiterated the importance of sustained efforts to realise the two-state solution, which they see as the road to the region’s long-term and comprehensive peace and stability. His Highness hailed Egypt’s efforts to assist the Palestinian people, as well as its key role in negotiating the Gaza ceasefire accord. The two leaders also hailed His Excellency Joseph Aoun’s election as President of Lebanon, expressing optimism that this outcome would help restore Lebanon’s stability.
