To identify health or developmental conditions in students from kindergarten through grade 12, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched the National School Health Screening Guideline in collaboration with health, education, and social authorities. This will allow for early intervention and support.
By standardizing school health exams nationwide, the guideline seeks to improve community health and the level of living for both current and future generations by coordinating student healthcare initiatives and creating a trustworthy national database of screening findings.
Along with ministry representatives and representatives from health, educational, and social organizations around the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, attended the inaugural ceremony in Dubai.
A national framework for providing preventive health services in a standardized way, with a clear timeframe and unified approach, is provided by the National School Health Screening Guideline. The manual describes the precise procedures for early identification of pupils’ health and developmental issues. This includes evaluating growth markers, including height, weight, and body mass index, updating each student’s medical history, and performing yearly school health exams. A review of vaccination status and a vision exam are also included, with updates performed under the national immunization program.
