The President, His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the “power of partnerships” on Monday in the White House with US President Joe Biden.
He praised the ability to forge connections with countries that have similar ideals and aspirations for a better future and reiterated the UAE’s steadfast dedication to the US alliance.
President Biden and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed spoke about the depth of the strategic alliance between the US and the UAE and their shared desire to fortify it further.
The presidents discussed a range of topics related to their long-standing bilateral ties, including trade and investment, the economy, space exploration, advanced technology, renewable energy, combating climate change, sustainability, and food security. They expressed a strong desire to increase cooperation in these areas in order to further the goals of global stability and prosperity that both nations share.
His Highness cited a 1974 meeting between Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, and a NASA team that provided a briefing on the Apollo program as an example of how the two nations’ relations have blossomed. He clarified that, fifty years later, the UAE and NASA are currently working together to construct the Gateway mission, which aims to build the first space station for humankind around the moon.
