We recently had the privilege of interviewing Smbat Amiraghyan. Founder and CTO of CodeLines, a company that provides full-cycle web and mobile development services. Under his leadership, CodeLines has grown into a complete technology partner for businesses, offering not just development, but scalable digital ecosystems designed to accelerate growth and efficiency.
The Beginning
We started the interview by asking, “Smbat, tell us about your professional journey. How did it all begin?”
Smbat Amiraghyan shared, “My path started with programming. I was fascinated by how digital systems work and how an idea can be transformed into a real, working tool. Over the years, I worked on many projects and eventually realized that I wanted to build an environment — a team, a culture — where ideas could grow into living products. That is how CodeLines was born.”
Teamwork for Success
A team is the backbone of any business. So, we asked Smbat Amiraghyan, “Who were your first team members? How did the team come together?”
“The very first team members were people I had worked with before, in different companies. That gave confidence both to them and to me — we already knew each other’s strengths, character, and working style. Later the team expanded, but our approach to hiring remained unchanged: human values and responsibility are just as important as technical expertise. When choosing a new team member, we look not only at the skill set but also at the person behind it,” he mentioned.

“The biggest challenge was building the right team. Finding a good specialist is easy, but finding a good person + a good professional — that’s a more complex equation. Instead of building fast, we chose to build right. As a result, we now have a team that not only works but truly takes ownership of the projects.
For example, today we manage a well-known international online casino and a dating platform that has more than 15 million users,” he reflected.

We asked, “Innovation is key in your field. How do you maintain the pace?”
Smbat Amiraghyan added, We constantly explore new technologies. We believe limiting ourselves to just that would be a mistake. We experiment, launch, measure, improve, and grow.”

Intrigued to learn more about the projects built by CodeLines, we asked, “Could you name a few projects you’ve built?”
Smbat Amiraghyan reflected, “Certainly. We have developed CRM/ERP platforms, Telegram and web-based software products, a successful and globally competitive gambling (online casino) platform, as well as a modern dating service with a beautiful interface. In truth, the scope of our work is quite broad.”
From Planning to Execution
Starting a new project requires a lot of planning. To understand more, we asked Smbat Amiraghyan, “How do you start a new project? What stages does it go through?”
Smbat Amiraghyan shared, “We begin by listening. Often, it’s more important to understand not only what the client wants but also why. We analyze the problem, evaluate strengths, and build the vision. Then development begins — step by step — allowing the client to see progress along the way. And most importantly, we do not abandon the project after delivery.”
We even asked, “So you provide ongoing support as well?”
“Yes — and even more. We provide a lifetime guarantee for our projects. If something breaks or needs fixing in the future, we solve it for free. That’s our signature approach. We build long-term trust, not one-time deals,” he added.

We also asked, “How do you maintain engagement both within the team and with clients?”
Smbat Amiraghyan shared, “We work with clients openly, transparently, and authentically — no complicated language, no empty promises. Inside the team, every person understands the value of their contribution, and that drives motivation. When a developer feels they are creating rather than just coding, the outcome changes.”

Lastly, we asked, “Finally, what would you like CodeLines to be remembered for years from now?”
“I hope people say that CodeLines was a team that created value, not just software. That we were a company that did honest work, stood behind its product, and changed the way businesses operate.
If our name becomes associated with trust, quality, and a human-centered attitude — I will consider that a true success,” Smbat responded.
