According to a White House Official, Apple will Commit $100 Billion to US Manufacturing

According to a White House official, Apple Inc. will make a $100 billion commitment to domestic manufacturing on Wednesday, with an emphasis on increasing production in the US.

On the customary condition of anonymity, the official stated that the offer would entail a new financial commitment. It coincides with President Donald Trump’s strong trade and tariff policies, which are intended to bring some manufacturing back to the US.

In February, Apple said that it will invest $500 billion in the United States over the next four years, adding around 20,000 jobs in research and development nationwide and building a massive artificial intelligence server plant in Texas.

Trump’s tariffs prompted some customers to purchase iPhones in the late spring of this year, costing Apple $800 million in the June quarter. Apple has been relocating the manufacturing of goods that are headed to the United States, sourcing Macs and Apple Watches from Vietnam and iPhones from India. Many of Apple’s goods are presently free from tariffs, and the final prices that many may encounter are still up in the air.

In addition to helping reshore the production of vital components to safeguard America’s economic and national security, today’s news with Apple is another victory for our manufacturing sector, according to a statement released by White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers.
