GITEX, the world’s largest technology fair, is set to make history by venturing into Europe for the first time in 2025, as announced by a senior German official during the ongoing event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Traditionally held in Dubai for over four decades, GITEX will make its European debut in the capital of Germany, Berlin, in May 2025. Franziska Giffey, Vice Mayor of Berlin and State Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Enterprises, shared this exciting news.
Giffey emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity, stating, “As we come together, we can achieve more and shape our shared future.” She further noted the transformative nature of both Germany and Europe, with the region at the epicenter of a rapidly evolving landscape characterized by the new industrial and economic revolution.
The forthcoming event will be jointly organized by Dubai World Trade Center’s subsidiary, KAOUN International, in partnership with Messe Berlin.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, highlighted the symbiotic relationship between Berlin and Dubai. He expressed, “Berlin is a natural partner and twin to Dubai,” highlighting the event’s significance in showcasing the best talents and innovations from the region in Europe and vice versa.
The current GITEX GLOBAL, spanning five days and commencing on Monday in Dubai, has attracted participation from approximately 6,000 companies representing 180 countries.
In addition to this exciting expansion into Europe, GITEX will also host an Africa edition of the event in March of the following year, to be held in Marrakech, Morocco.
